The Spokane Chapter Gives Back

We are committed to giving back to our communities through various programs that align with our four pillars of service—Advocacy, Education, Leadership, and Philosophy. Look for opportunities that allow our credit unions to interact and give back to the community that we live, work and serve in. Check back throughout the year as we highlight those opportunities.

Money Smart Week

April is Financial Literacy Month. Help your members and neighbors sharpen their money management skills with Money Smart Week! Money Smart Week is a series of free financial workshops and events that touch on subject matter from Understanding Your Credit Report to Budgeting Basics. Events include a Public Shred Day where anyone can get rid of their unwanted personal documents. If you would like to learn more visit www.dfi.wa.gov/financial-education or Click here for a list of free classes..

Scholarship Program

The Spokane Chapter provides scholarship grants to help strengthen our credit union community and contribute to the development of our local area credit union professionals. If your credit union is an affiliate of the Spokane Chapter of the Northwest Credit Union Association, we have scholarship funds available for staff, management and volunteers to assist in paying for educational programs that enhance individual performance and benefit your credit union.

The Spokane Chapter has a budget for credit union related programs as well as for CUNA Management School. Please note that scholarship money is offered throughout the year until the budgeted amount as been utilized.
